Those of us with allergies do the allergy salute all spring and fall. You’ve probably seen it, the hand across the nose as we try to stop the itching. Our eyes water and feel like things are pricking them. We feel tired and listless. We sneeze. We cough. We want to die. When I first moved to South Carolina, I went to the doctor that first spring and told him I was very ill. In fact I said “I think I’m dying.” I explained my symptoms, and he just laughed and said one word - Allergies !
Now what can the library do for you? We have books about allergies to educate you as to how to recognize and control your symptoms. As you may know, there are different types of allergies. Listed below are books to help you, including cookbooks for those people with food allergies.
