This time of year the sunlight in your home is getting brighter. It is funny that once I have packed up my holiday tree the apartment appears to have more light. The days are lengthening; in the south we are looking for spring already. With a whiff of warm air and green shoots in the earth you feel an inner awakening. Nature teases us with frosty nights and faux spring days; a winter garden indoors is a treat to the senses. Watching the progress of the sun across the sky reinforces the banishment of winter. Charlotte Moss’s Winter House lists delightful containers for displays of fruit, trees, bushes and berries. Examples include a colored glass finger bowl with flowers, a silver compote overflowing with pomegranates, Chinese porcelain with baby pineapples and filling a shallow basket with grape leaves, grapes and figs. Arrangements of early blooms remind us of the arrival of a watercolor landscape ahead. Let the sunshine in with the sources listed below.
