Jennifer Grey and David Hasselhoff? Inspiring?

I don't mind Mondays so much anymore.  I head home from work, slide into comfy clothes, kick back on the couch, and turn off my cell phone.  Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) comes on!  Yes, I actually will admit to watching it.  It's my guilty pleasure (and probably that of the 21 million other Americans tuning in as well).

Oh, the drama!  The awkward celebrity/instructor clashes!  Bristol Palin in an ape suit!  Rick Fox!

But really, how often does the average person have the opportunity to watch genuinely talented ballroom dancers?  Doesn't it make you the tiniest bit envious as they gracefully tango across the dance floor?  As I watch, I often find myself thinking, "wow... I wish I could do that!".

If you want to stop wishing and start grooving, let RCPL get you moving!

's -  We've got all kinds!  How about Ballroom Dancing Made Easy, Ballroom, Let's Dance:  The Complete Book and of Ballroom Dance Instruction, or Ballroom Dancing Basics?

Books - I love this one: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Ballroom Dancing.  Also see:  The Joy of Dancing:  Ballroom, Latin, and Rock/Jive for Absolute Beginners of All Ages, Teach Yourself Ballroom Dancing, and many more (located under call number 793.33).

No dance partner?  Try this:  Season 10 stars Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson, along with DWTS pro alum Ashly Costa, offer an aerobics which incorporates ballroom dance moves into a cardio workout.
