Rock 'n Roll Memoirs

Did you want to be a rock and roll star? There are some great new memoirs that let us regular people have a sneak peak into the life of a rocker.

Patti Smith’s memoir, Just Kids, is not about being famous, but rather the time before fame, when she and her companion Robert Mapplethorpe were struggling artists in New York City. This book is poetic, eye-opening, and has garnered much praise from critics. It won the National Book Award for nonfiction in 2010.

Life by Keith Richards is the story of years of destructive excess and awe-inspiring creativity. It is surprising that Richards survived his own fame.  This best-selling book offers us a rare glimpse into the orbit of one of the greatest stars of Rock and Roll.
