Wrap It Up!

Beautifully, that is. I got tired of either paying extra for gift wrapping or giving an unappealing package. Once at an office party, my gift was one of the last gifts picked, even though the gift itself was well-received by the taker.

The wrapping was so unappealing that no one believed that a nice gift would come in such a package. I immediately decided to put the same amount of time into wrapping gifts that I took to select them.

Give yourself enough time and use it to present gifts better. I find it easier to wrap gifts as soon as they are bought and not to wait until Christmas Eve or minutes before I need to give the gift.

Measure the present; do not use too much paper. Use good scissors as well as name brand cellophane to ensure that the present can be sealed well and looks neat and tidy. A box is a good way to create a great presentation - make sure there is a nice crease.

Using inexpensive bows, feathers, buttons, stickers and many other effects will add a giggle for both you and the receiver. Many inexpensive envelopes, folders and other containers can be useful gift toppers as well.

In addition, you can be green with gift-wrapping! See examples of lovely recycled wrapping paper and ideas for useful wrapping at www.lime.com.  There are additional resources that you might find helpful -- see below.

I started buying a box of inexpensive Christmas ornaments each year - I tie an ornament onto the bow of every Christmas present I wrap. It makes for a very cute package!
