Review:

Eight years ago, an intruder broke into the posh Adirondack lodge of wealthy media mogul, William Andrews, and his famous socialite first wife, Kay Parker. She was brutally murdered and he was seriously injured. The perpetrator was never caught, and Bill spent the next several years building up his powerful empire, Andrews Global Network.

Bill buys the newspaper that employs business reporter, J.J. Warren (Jane) and after several unflattering articles, she soon arranges an interview in his Manhattan office but is instead whisked off to Paris where he has important business. After a rough start, their relationship soon turns romantic and he proposes. After saying yes, the "accidents" begin.

Jane believes that someone is trying to kill her and that it has to do with Kay's death. Are these "accidents" coincidences? Are the stakes and risks getting higher as Jane digs deeper and deeper into the truth? Is the perpetrator getting desperate to get Jane out of the way? Has she become a threat? Why?

Pseudonymous Diana Diamond's (William P. Kennedy) thriller takes the reader from New York to Paris to the Caribbean with a witty and intelligent heroine and a plot filled with suspense.
