ERIC

Perhaps best known as the largest education database in the world containing millions of journal articles, research reports, curriculum and teaching guides, its online searching provides ready access to this extensive body of education-related material. Established in 1966, it is supported by the Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement and is administered by the National Library of Education.

FAFSA

Administered by the United States Department of Education, FAFSA means "free application for federal student aid" and opens the door to the federal financial aid process. It also accepts online applications.

FinAid

Covers information about scholarships, loans, savings plans and military aid as well as advice about how to apply.

Midlands Workforce Center

Offers employment assistance through the Employment Security Commission.

Monster.com

Perhaps the best known site for job searching, Monster allows users not only to browse specific job openings but to post their own resumes, making the site useful for employers as well as job seekers.

Occupational Outlook Handbook

Revised every two years, the OOH is a nationally recognized source of career information describing what workers do on the job, their working conditions, the training and education required, earnings and expected job prospects for a wide range of occupations.

South Carolina JobLink
